A HOUSE ROOTED IN AGARWOOD
From the source to a signature scent.
OUDIQ’s story begins in Assam, where our parent company, Valrion Ventures LLP, manufactures oud oil. Working with agarwood and seeing how its preparation and distillation shape the oil brought us closer to a material with remarkable depth and character.
Founder Vikram Barve’s thirteen years in Oman shaped a lasting appreciation for oud and the place fragrance holds in everyday life. His return to India led to a deeper exploration of agarwood at its source—and to the idea of creating a fragrance house of our own.
Together with perfumer Kaushik Dey, Vikram visited agarwood plantations and traditional distillation houses in Assam. That firsthand experience connected the raw material to the creative work of perfumery: understanding each expression, then shaping it through trials and refinement.
